Short Bio

Swaroopa has received a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from New York University. She loves to work with children, adolescents, adults and families around a range of issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, substance use, co-dependency, parenting, familial relationships, transitions and trauma. Swaroopa has an eclectic style and combines elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness and positive psychology in her work. Swaroopa believes that a  client-centered, strengths-based, compassionate approach is the foundation of a successful therapeutic journey. In addition, Swaroopa is a Level 1 certified Iyengar yoga teacher and enjoys incorporating elements of yogic breathwork in sessions with clients.
